Origin of Computing
The first device considered a desktop computer was the Programma 101, created in 1965 by Olivetti. It could perform calculations, store instructions, and print results, which made it more advanced than a normal calculator which was the normal back then. Then in 1975 the Altair 8800 was released by MITS which is often seen as the first ever personal computer. Then in 1981, IBM released the IBM Personal Computer. This computer had a monitor, keyboard, and software, making it very similar to the modern computers we use today.Speaking about IBM, IBM was the rival of Apple. Apple was one of the weak links back then (now they are pretty much the most successful tech companies in the world). But in 1984 Apple released the Macintosh — it was one of the first computers to have a graphical user interface, meaning people could click icons and use a mouse instead of typing commands. The Macintosh was developed under the leadership of Steve Jobs (the CEO at the time was John Sculley), who wanted computers to be simple and easy for everyone to use.

How Is Computing Changing the World Now?
Work: Computers have changed jobs a lot by creating new ones like programmers, IT support, and designers (like my dad). People can also now work from home, which has increased the efficiency of getting work done by a lot.Learning: Computers have helped students learn in way more ways. They can watch videos, use websites and apps, and just Google something instead of going to a library and reading through books on top of books. Schools can also use computers for assignments and tests.Health: Computers help doctors store patient records, and patients can also reach out to doctors — like 000 calls for emergencies. However, it has also affected people's health because looking at screens for too long can strain your eyes, and sitting in a chair typing or watching a screen for hours can mess up your posture.Society: Computers allow people to chat and connect with each other. You can also access a huge amount of entertainment and information from this one piece of technology. The internet means news and information spreads fast — but it comes with a price: cyberbullying, privacy issues, and a lot of inappropriate content that anyone can easily access.

The Future of Computing
"By 2040, quantum computing will be integrated into everyday applications, offering exponentially faster processing than today's most advanced supercomputers."I reckon we might even move away from desktop computing and into chips in our head or even what Apple are showing now which is the Apple Vision Pro it's basically a computer on your head but also what Meta is showing us with their AR glasses throughout our time I reckon it might get a lens inside our eye. This will take a while decade but it is going to come quicker than we think. So what I am trying to say is there might be a day in the future where desktop computing is not a thing and it is just in our head or a lens in our eye but hopefully all the history still gets remembered. And we are getting close to this chip inside our head theory because in late December last year research led by Jake Freedman created a device that is a significant step forward in quantum computing they created a chip/device 100 times thinner than a human hair which has been historical.

Conclusion
My Opinion
So in conclusion to the Programma 101 to today computing the MacBook Pro M5 has changed massively with how its made and how much it costs and how efficient it actually works will in 10 years or 20 or even a century how will it change from what we have today already or will it ever change maybe it will go and the idea of desktop computing will go away.
